FGC Construction works with all major manufacturers of Data Center Transformer Systems.
Transformers are essential to many steps in the data center power distribution chain. They can provide isolation for data center loads or sensitive equipment via the structural nature to minimize transients, harmonics, and general line anomalies. They can provide step down or step up in voltage which can assist in directing voltage correctly to those loads you are trying to support. Today transformers are located inside of PDU’s (Power Distribution Units) on the data center floor located next to the IT rack loads.
It is common knowledge that the further you carry higher voltage to the end user load the more efficient your electrical system will operate. Locating transformers close to the actual load reduces the wire size and installation costs. Therefore it is important during the design of your data center or critical electrical system to put attention toward the location of the transformer in relation to the loads.
Your FGC Construction estimator can help with mapping out your preferred power distribution path from the utility transformer, through main service switchgear, and ultimately to the point of use.
If the project is data center equipment swap out, FGCC can oversee the installation of new generator, UPS, HVAC, PDU, and all other electrical and mechanical systems. The coordination of new equipment cutover, plan for removal and installation with lowest impact on loads and the facility is something FGC Construction team specializes in.
FGC Construction is an experienced team that is used to working in live mission critical facilities and understand the proper procedures for working in specific areas of a facility.
