custom configurations
Our Project Managers are Electrical Professionals solely focused on data center projects.
We have extensive experience with all sized data center projects. Our professional team is focused on your project requirement, budget, and outcome. Over 25 years and $225m in critical data center upgrades. We work in all 48 contiguous US States.
FGC Construction works with all major manufacturers of Data Center Switchboard and Switchgear OEM’s. We can assist with custom configurations, challenging electrical distribution situations, and replacement equipment solutions. Many facilities have an antiquated electrical distribution system which makes it a challenge for new IT installations. The FGC team will provide you with a roadmap and a solution for almost any environment. This switchgear power distribution point is also a very important decision point on how you are going to distribute power to loads. The switchgear and breaker panels are to be set up to transfer power on to your data center floor PDU’s, electrical panels within the data center, or to other distribution points within your facility. The data center electrical switchgear distribution point is where you will maximize your electrical capacity for your data center or critical load. Because kW power is money, you will want to make sure you are getting every kw delivered into your facility possible. Newly formed crypto mining installations, cryptocurrency and and bitcoin mining farms require large amounts of power and directed cooling solutions a bit different than a traditional data center. Our teams are experienced to install the most efficient power distribution system and cooling solution for all applications
The ATS is an important point in any electrical distribution system. It can be a single point of failure if it does not operate or integrate correctly with the generator and utility system.
The electrical switchgear distribution point is where you will maximize your electrical capacity for your data center or critical load. Because kW power is money, you will want to make sure you are getting every kw delivered into your facility possible. FGC Construction works with all major manufacturers of Data Center Automatic Transfer Switch systems (ATS) and generator systems. We can assist with custom configurations that integrate with different generator systems, challenging data center generator and electrical distribution situations, and generator / ats replacement equipment solutions. Many facilities have an antiquated ats and generator systems which makes it a challenge for new IT installations. The FGCC team will provide you with a roadmap and a solution for most any data center environment.

The FGCC team will provide you with a roadmap and a solution for any and all Power Distribution (PDU) requirements.
Transformers are essential to many steps in the data center power distribution chain. The can provide isolation for data center loads or sensitive equipment via the structural nature to minimize transients, harmonics, and general line anomalies. They can provide step down or step up in voltage which can assist in directing voltage correctly to those loads you are trying to support. Today transformers are located inside of PDU’s (Power Distribution Units) on the data center floor located next to the IT rack loads. Your FGC Construction estimator can help with mapping out your preferred power distribution path from the utility transformer, through main service switchgear, and ultimately to the point of use.
Data center lighting is not a critical function of your facility. However, it can affect your data center PUE. It should be automated. It should be such a technology that does not provide any risk to your facility operation, fire danger, or need for constant maintenance. There are also aesthetic qualities that lighting can add to your data center to feature certain characteristics. The proper lighting plan can provide an end-user touring your site with the “IT” factor in their decision. Offsetting colors, efficient lighting, and low-risk technology are all features to look at.
A data center cutover event on a live system is complicated and intricate. Many times a customer is replacing a failed UPS that is in line with other equipment such as an existing Generator and ATS. Or a power distribution system is sought out to replace an antiquated breaker system. First our team will analyze the system to find out if it’s possible for a live cutover. If possible, provide a road map to convert the old system to the new. Data Center Electrical Cutover services while installing new equipment must be performed by an experienced professional. Even licensed individuals that try to manage such a complicated process with little knowledge of the internal workings of the data centerr equipment create a risky result. Much liability can be created by hiring individuals not experienced in data center electrical cutover services.
If your security system is due for an upgrade, don’t wait until something goes wrong. FGC is here to help improve your facilities security system with the most up-to-date technologies. Some examples of where we can help you improve your security, are:
• Physical perimeters, including temporary and permanent fencing and cages
• Door access control systems
• Video surveillance systems
• Man trap systems
• Network security
• Redundancy in security infrastructure
• Cabinet and rack security
Data Center Control and Automation Systems are what drive the reliability and efficiency of your data center facility. Many facilities aren’t getting the most out of their equipment due to a lack of controls and automation, or even due to errors in programming. Investing in these systems can quickly save you money in annual operating costs and also save you from catastrophic failures with real-time alarm systems. Whether it’s a Building Management System (BMS), Building Automation System (BAS), Data Center Infrastructure Management System (DCIM), we can help you establish a robust control and automation system that allows you to sit back and relax. Need more reasons why? Here’s a small list of the numerous benefits of data center control and automation systems.
- Lower your monthly electrical bill with improved efficiency in power usage
- Avoid disasters such as overloading equipment with a system of real-time preventative alarms
- Improve visibility of your assets and allow for better future planning
- Allow better transparency to customers of their equipment and the environment they reside in with remote access
- Minimize the chance of human error by reducing the need for manual operations
- Extend the lifetime of your equipment through automated cycling of redundant systems
- Increase consistency of your record logging and preventative maintenance programs
