Data Center Airflow Management | DCDE Madison

Madison, WI location for Dane County Data Exchange is a 40,000SF facility capacity with 15,000 built out areas. FGCC worked with utility providers MG&E to bring in 5MW of power for phase 1 of the project. 14MW total available. This is located in exterior switchgear in the yard. Phase 1 also installed 2ea 1500KW Cummins Generator systems in an A + B configuration. The power systems are A + B – 2 x 750kW UPS Systems with 15 minute battery. Air Cooled Multistack redundant chillers were installed for ideal data center airflow management and direct cooling to air handlers on the data center floors. 36″ raised floor installed to direct cold air to cold aisles and hot air returns in a plenum. Power Distribution is underfed through the floor to PDU’s located on the data center floor. Racks are top fed with power and cooling. Reinforced concrete wall infrastructure on data center, plus 12′ concrete walls surround the gated facility. Added features were Security office, NOC, 2 x fiber meet-me-rooms, workspace recovery area, cafeteria, and game area.
